ARTWORK #42 - Behnaz Farahi
Behnaz Farahi is and architect and a designer. She is passionate about interactions and their potential between the human body and its environment. She focuses particularly on the implementation of emerging technologies in art and architecture.
This is “Caress of the Gaze”, an interactive top designed with the help of Autodesk, PIER9 and MADWORKSHOP, an interactive 3D printed top that detects other people’s gaze and animates with life-like behaviour. Thanks to robotics, she manages to create a direct relationship between the human body and the material world.
Her work has been exhibited in several countries and featured in multiple magazines and website. She even collaborated with professor Behrokh Khoshnevis on two NASA funded research projects developing a robotic fabrication technology to 3D print structures on the Moon and Mars.
